Purpose
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Act 2013 highlights the importance of innovation, quality, continuous improvement, contemporary best practices, and effectiveness in delivering supports to people with disabilities. In alignment with this, the Continuous Improvement Plan for Business Name is designed to foster ongoing communication, encourage critical questioning, and conduct thorough analysis of both new and existing activities. This plan aims to ensure that Business Name achieves the highest standards of service delivery while implementing best practices consistent with the National Standards for Disability Services (the Standards) and the core principles of the NDIS.
Plan Objectives
- A Culture of Excellence: Developing an organisational culture that values all individuals and is committed to continuously improving service quality to exceed expectations.
- Effective Communication and Critical Thinking: Encouraging open information sharing across the organisation and fostering a mindset that challenges assumptions to identify better ways of working.
- Alignment with Standards: Ensuring that all practices at Business Name align with the National Standards for Disability Services, translating the principles of the NDIS into actionable strategies that lead to measurable outcomes.
Definition of Continuous Improvement
The Standards define continuous improvement as: “The ongoing effort of an organisation to improve services, systems, processes or products to maximise benefits for its clients. The process of continuous improvement relies on evidence-based information to support the organisation’s success in achieving its goals and outcomes. This also means adapting to changing needs of the community or people using services.”
Scope and Activities
This Continuous Improvement Plan outlines structured activities to drive systematic improvements, including New Initiatives (identifying and implementing innovative programs), Enhancements to Existing Practices (evaluating current systems), and Routine Assessments (using evidence-based methods to measure outcomes).

The key objectives of this Continuous Improvement Plan are to enhance service quality, improve participant outcomes, increase operational efficiency, ensure compliance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
